Another month has gone by, and VOG: The Game has closed out yet another leaderboard. In true NBC fashion, I will tape delay the leaderboard to generate suspense.
VOG is excited to announce that we are invading PlayStation Home by way of the PlayStation Home Summer Fest 2012 later this month! This event features some of the top known clubs and organizations that inhabit PlayStation Home, the free social gathering place available to all PlayStation Network subscribers. Each night, from July 23rd to the 30th, a different club or organization will host an event in a different public space within Home. The VOG Network is hosting "VOG Invasion" on Sunday, July 29th, starting at 8PM ET/5PM PT.
I have a stock answer for a particular question that gets posed on Internet forums all the time. The question is, "What is your favorite Final Fantasy?" My stock answer is, "The one that I played when I was the closest to 12 years old." Us old people remember Final Fantasy VI as our favorite, the younger generation considers Final Fantasy X their favorite, and in about 10 years we'll hear about how Final Fantasy XIII was the best of the series. For this game, it doesn't matter what your favorite Final Fantasy is, there's something in here you'll enjoy.
Vince Twelve of xii games joined Bobby Blackwolf to discuss his new PC adventure title Resonance, a game that received a grade of A here at VOG. The following is a partial transcript from Episode 341 of The Bobby Blackwolf Show, originally broadcast on June 24, 2012.
The first month of VOG: The Game has completed, and it was a very successful beta test of what we're trying to accomplish here to bring you something more than JUST a website that has podcasts and blogs. This is a wrapup of some of the stats from our first month online as well as the final leaderboard tallies.
Resonance is the latest adventure game published by Wadjet Eye Games, and developed by xii games' Vince Twelve. It's been in development for over five years, and indie adventure game fans have been awaiting this release since an early demo was entered into the Independent Games Festival in 2009. The plot revolves around four characters who come together to help stop technology that a (now deceased) particle physicist created from falling into the wrong hands. While that's a seemingly straightforward enough premise, the intertwining lives and memories of the characters make for an engaging story.
"Hey, you." "What?" "Time to come out and play." "Did they release another RUSH pack?" "No, silly, I'm gonna be a DJ now." That was the imaginary conversation I had with my Rock Band Guitar when I began my trip into Zivix's rhythm title JAM Live Music Arcade, available now on Xbox Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network.
You've come for the podcasts, the articles, and the community. You sign up to participate, and lo and behold, you received...loot. Loot?! AND points were awarded? You just started your trip into VOG: The Game - which is the web-game played by participating in the content network you came here for in the first place. I'll explain it.
