As the VOG community may already know, I recently bought an Acer Aspire v5-531-463 laptop, which has Windows 7 Home Premium as it's OS. Earlier today, I had bouht Diablo II from Target. So far I have the base game installed & was trying that. I have run into 1 issue though: after a short while, the graphics tend to glitch out. Any suggestions? Frankly, I don't know jack about pc gaming, w/ all of my 31 years of gaming know-how being in consoles & handheld systems, so don't know what the heck I'm doing here. Any help would be appreciated & thanks in advance.

I remember having similar problems with the first one :P

Anyway, this might help;

Have the compatibility mode set to Windows XP (Service Pack 3)
Run in 256 colours
Disable Desktop composition
Run this program as an administrator

If you still run into issues, try keeping the Screen Resolution menu opened as you play. This may sound odd, but I've seen a few people say this solved their problems when playing.

(actual advice stolen mercilessly from: http://gaming.stackexchange.com/questio ... -windows-7)

I seem to remember that last suggestion helping for me :P

Hope this helps :)

Have you patched it? I believe that's supposed to fix anything else.

Beyond that, I really don't know.

I'm about to go try patching it via trying to play online (I'd imagine that if I try connecting to the online servers, I'll be prompted to download ny patches), so that may help, plus I just installed the Lord of Destruction expansion, so that may help too.

Follow-up: With all that's said & done, it still happens periodically. The only workarounds that seem to work for that is to either back out of game to the tile screen, then re-enter the game, or adjust the gamma slider in the in-game menu.
