Post subject: | any indie programmers out there?! |
all this talk about Flappy VOG compelled me to make this thread so I could share a few of the games I've written... if there's any other homebrew/indie devs out there that have a game you should share some of yours too!: These were all submitted to a 'pirate kart' collection for GDC 2012: Eugene Meyer's Extreme Pennyfarthing Racing: http://www.glorioustrainwrecks.com/node/2735 Okay admittedly I only threw this one together in a few minutes, but it was a crazy idea I jusst wanted to see if i could do it... sort of an oddball racing/platform game, if I get some good feedback I may revisit this game in the future. OM NOM NOM (multiplayer version): http://www.glorioustrainwrecks.com/node/2541 Basically this is a game inspired by one of my favorite Atari 2600 games of all time, Telesys Games' Fast Food. You play as a disembodied mouth and random food items fly across the screen and the object is to eat them all while avoiding the dangerous tumbleweeds that randomly pop up. (in the original they were purple pickles) Ballbuster Invasion: http://www.glorioustrainwrecks.com/node/2318 I kinda got the idea for this one watching an episode of GameCenter CX (a Japanese guy tries to complete classic videogames, but sometimes he'll take a trip out to random Gamecenters (aka arcades) around Japan, and one of the games was this weird minigame compilation that Konami made. The idea was it's a cross between space invaders and arkanoid. Bounce the ball off the paddle and try to destroy all of the aliens. There's no real penalty for missing the ball though, unless you opt for the 'expert' mode... anyway those are the ones I've done enough on to be at least playable, so let me know what you guys think! and feel free to post any you guys might have created, too. |
