EDIT 5/16/2014 Viz announces a re-release of the original 200 episodes + the movies on DVD/Bluray and digital! 5/24/2014 It appears according to a tweet that just went out today that both Crunchyroll and Hulu will be getting Sailormoon Crystal as well!

Re-reading the manga now to get a feel of what the new anime will be like. Going to be much quicker and cleaner feeling I think. Hopefully none of the dumb ass "monster of the day" stuff, since that wasn't part of manga. Might cut it down to 13 episode seasons instead of 26 or 52 episode seasons, but I think that's fine.

Sailor Moon was the first anime I saw. Let me tell you, being a male Sailor Moon fan in the US was very difficult...

Anyway, I really hope they do this right. I'm wondering if this new series (remake?) was given the green light because of the success of Madoka.

almost forgot there's been some new news at the start of 2014:

so it won't be a retelling of the anime, it'll be closer to the original manga from what I've read. And the new director's previous credit include animes like One Piece, so it should be interesting to see his take on Sailormoon.
