So, we completed our game, it's a special experience as a tester. There's a game to play and there's also a game to test! Enjoy!
Instructions: In this game, you are a game tester playing a first person shooter. In addition to beating the levels, you are scored by marking bugs by using the right mouse button. If you can walk through a wall, that's a bug! If an enemy isn't actively trying to kill you, that's a bug! If a powerup instead powers you down, that's a bug!
If you spot a bug, mark it with the right mouse button! Keep in mind that if you collect a powerup, you can no longer mark it, so you'll have to let the enemies kill you or jump out of the world, and mark it the next time around. (Bugs persist in a single playthough of the game so you can assume that if it happens once on an item, it will happen every time!) Keep in mind you'll have to re-mark any bugs if you die!
You have 2 weapons, a regular pea shooter style pistol, and a machine gun. The pea shooter has unlimited ammo. If you collect an ammo pickup (By touching a powerup at an angle where it's displaying ammo) you SHOULD get some ammo. HOWEVER, this will NOT work if you have the pistol equipped, so be sure to switch to your machine gun before picking up ammo.
Good luck and have fun!

What you need to do is ALWAYS allow plugins and then refresh. It's stupid; I recommend that if you want to play the game you go for the PC or Mac versions.

Hey guys, this is Max from Cooking With Unity!
I actually hate naming things before finishing them, as I tend to operate experimentally, so expect the name to change.
The first thing I thought of when I heard the theme was specifically the key/gun bug from the fantastic webcomic Problem Sleuth
http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=4&p=000276I'd really like to do something like that, something subtle and interesting that has a feel reminiscent of stranger times in games. That being said, I am not sure if I have the talent to be subtle.
So, I am not quite sure what I will be making. It's either going to be a physics-based game where you have a little buggy, or it's going to be something glitched out and wonderful, like RGBXYZ
http://vimeo.com/62087014What I DO know is that I'll be using Unity3d (
http://www.Unity3d.com), and the files will be available here on GitHub:
https://github.com/PushyPixels/VogJam01And I'll likely be broadcasting a lot of my process in making this so that people can follow along and get some hints on how to wrangle Unity to make their own games.
My videos are at
http://www.CookingWithUnity.com but I'll have posts with direct links to anything that I end up broadcasting for this competition.
