This has been a running joke for a long time on the show.

Like many people we anticipate the big reveal of Half Life 3 every year at E3 (or any other convention) where Gabe Newell (founder of Valve) walks out on stage and announces the game to the world. At times on the show we've (hosts and the chatters) often fantasized about how Gabe will do it. Now its our turn.

Example:

Loki's idea from a few episodes ago: Gabe comes out on stage and says "Half Life 3 coming out soon" and drops the mic. As he drops the mic and the crowd is losing it, hundreds of mics drop from the ceiling onto the crowd.



Here are my ideas:


Gabe Newell walks out on stage. He says absolutely nothing and puts up 3 fingers and the crowd loses it. With his hand still in the air, he puts up 4 fingers and the 4 horseman of the Apocalypse come down from the sky.


Gabe Newell walks out on stage during the Nintendo conference. He says "Half Life 3 exclusive to Nintendo NX". The crowd loses it and then he adds ".... with Amiibo support". The crowd exits the building to start lining up outside retail stores.

Gabe Newell walks out on stage...with Oprah. He whispers "it has begun", and as the words HALF-LIFE 3 - AVAILABLE ON STEAM TODAY! flash behind them, Oprah points to the audience and screams, "You get a Steam code! And you get a Steam code! Everyone in the room gets a Steam code!!!!"

The internet explodes causing a 3-day total outage of net traffic.

The original version of this was my thing on a Listless several years ago, which was as follows:

"Gabe Newell comes on stage, says 'Half Life 3, Available Right Now' drops the mic and walks off."

Maybe instead, Gabe announces Frog Fractions 2...Which is HL3.

When I interviewed John Patrick Lowrie (TF2 sniper voice actor) and asked him what Gabe's aversion to the number three was, he gave an interesting answer that I'm positive is 100% true (not)...

The whole place goes silent.

"I have an announcement to make..."

"...tomorrow!"

An announcement of an announcement. That's what I think will happen, if they have anything worthwhile to announce. Maybe.

Either that, or Gabe Newell walks out...
...and slowly walks across the stage without stopping, then leaves.

The expo hall is dark and hushed. A single spotlight shines onto the stage. A large woman with a vivacious personality walks out onto the stage into the spotlight and begins to sing...

"ARE YOU READY FOR A MIRACLE?"

Suddenly the curtain drops to reveal a multi-demoninational choir who begins to burst into song, as gabe slowly rises from the floor:
