Horde House

Episode 129: Outworld is Mortal Kombat

Blizzcon is on everyone’s mind this week. Grandpa and Rob were in Anaheim and bring back some stories from the convention and more importantly the parties! Shane and Xtofer watched from home and definitley have their opinions too. We try to look at both sides of the coin, the good and bad about one of our favorite online game producers.

It’s not a 100% Blizzard show this week though, as there’s news to jump into as well involving Everquest Next Landmark and their upcoming Beta which you can pay to get into.

All this including e-mails, tweets, Guild Wars 2, Final Fantasy XIV and MORE round out another episode of our show about ALL things online gaming but NEVER too SRSLY– HORDE HOUSE!

I'm with Shane on the level 90 boost. I think it's brilliant, and fears that it will create inexperienced players are unfounded. Every expansion, you pretty much have to relearn your class, and it's that grind to level cap that really teaches you how to play, much more than the 85 or so levels before it. I have given up expecting some kind of discount on the expansion or subscription though. It's not going to happen.

I personally would be very excited about the new wow expansion. No new class or race to grind up and learn, a garrison that is all your own to customize, a free character to nearly max lvl to play with my friend on another server, and revisiting outlands which is such a gorgeous place.

But i don't play wow anymore.... and i don't care. This is too little about 5 years too late.

On a better note, im playing D3 again in part because of what they showed at blizzcon. It feels like they've listened to the millions of critique's about the endgame, and they want players back on board so they can sell us more than one expansion. So they've sold me one item at least.

I still can't believe they're getting rid of Expertise, Hit and other stats. These are used to tell whether or not your toon was geared correctly and/or how to play your class. Now it all doesn't matter.
