Horde House

Episode 146: I'm About to show you a Dramatic Reading

Our collection is complete, as Jamal from Troll in the Dungeon joins us to talk tonight about his time in World of Warcraft. He also shares some of his experiences of being a very bad boy with other Blizzard games.

Blizzard fanboys and girls everywhere are anticipating Blizzcon, and the details are announced this week. But why the price increase? And the ticket vendor change? And the short time before they go on sale? We theorize some reasons LIVE with our guest and our chatrooms.

Final Fantasy XIV and Destiny news round out another news roundtable for this week, and our tweets & e-mails get us thinking about revisiting games we’d previously given up on.

While I also agree that $200 is too much for me to want to go to Blizzcon, I don't think it's a terrible price if you want to experience the event, especially if it's your first time. I loved my times at Blizzcon and it's way more than just paying $200 to play a demo. They put on a great convention, treat the fans wonderfully, and foster a great sense of community for all who attend. I liked Comic-Con but most of what I did there was stand in line for hours, sit down, and watch people promote stuff. There was very little community or interactivity and that's what Blizzcon really gives you.

I do love that you think the quality of my teacup image manipulation is so good there is no way I threw that together in 10 minutes during my break at work (just as I am doing commenting right now) but spent the entire morning slaving at it to my employer's dismay.

Not that it matters either way... I'm union! ;)

By the way, Jamal is one of the best guests you've ever had on. I love his attitude and I really relate to the balance that is gaming and raising a family. I should make time to listen to their podcast but VOG shows are clogging my iPod up!
