Horde House

Episode 165: Touched by an Xtofer

We are joined this week by Delvin from the Video Game Realness podcast, a long time MMO player, to talk about his adventures in all the MMOs and the very current Smash Bros on 3DS and how well… or how unwell it plays online against others.

Grandpa has had it officially with one company he’s been supporting for over ten years, and you might be very surprised at the reasons why. In the news, we talk about Diablo 3’s patch for Playstation 4 and Xbox One, and the places you weren’t meant to visit yet in Destiny.

All this and MORE on the show about ALL things online gaming but NEVER too SRSLY- HORDE HOUSE!

Grandpa is going way overboard regarding his ticket situation.

They said no refunds when you bought them, they had a final date posted for online name changes, so Blizzard doesn't really owe you anything, yet they still offer a last ditch way to name-change your tickets, even if it is a bit inconvenient.

I do think the people you dealt with were condescending, so if that makes you angry that's understandable, but as far as the tickets, I think they are giving plenty more leeway than they have to on transferring those over.

Hope it works out in the end. I think it will be fine considering you did end up finding all the proper documentation they require. Don't know why it wouldn't work otherwise. If I had a chance to use those tickets with all the proper photocopies, I would be fairly confident heading down to LA. Good luck!

I think at this point Grandpa is better off forging his Drivers Licence, dress his ticket buyer to look like himself (Grandpa) and have that person go to the show as Grandpa.

I think if they were clear cut in saying "No transfers whatsoever" or had a simple transfer system in place, Grandpa wouldn't have to jump through this many hoops.

I still don't see what isn't simple about making front and back copies of the credit card and ID tied to the purchase and sending it down with a trusted friend like Rob to get the transfer done. Sounds pretty clear cut to me. Any simpler and less personal and it opens up all tickets sold to easy scalping.

I trust Rob. The photocopies of ID and CC info is just identity theft waiting to happen. I've read the forums where ppl are selling tix, sending photocopies of their info, then cancelling their CC - saying it was stolen. From June 6 to November 6, "life happens." I get that they want to lock down any counterfeit issues. They need to move back the date to put names on the tix and NOT outsource to someone else. Both Eventbrite and Blizzard told me to talk to each of the other companies for assistance. It's a risky work around. In each of my tickets to blizzard they said for me to show up and work with the ticket booth. Clearly, they are not reading the full text of my ticket. If someone who bought a ticket to blizzcon died it would be interesting to ask that corpse for a copy of their ID and CC. There are legit reasons where either Eventbrite or Blizzard could have helped. I'm voting with my dollars that their BlizzCon ticket process is flawed.
