Horde House

Howdy ya'll and welcome to The Best Little Horde House in Azeroth. Internet radio & podcasting veterans Rob Roberts and Xtofer, and their wine loving friend Grandpa bring you a weekly dose of Azeroth news and updates from an honest yet sometimes sassy perspective. Join us for our antics each week as we invite special guests to pull up a chair with us and poke a little fun at one of our past times.

One of the biggest console games dropped this week, Destiny. This game is hard to define. Is it an MMO, or does the new term “Mingleplayer” seem to describe it better? Ian from Qoopa Klub joins us again this week to talk about his love of the game, and how it might last a long time. In the news tonight, we talk about the extended celebration of World of Warcraft’s 10th anniversary, which will allow even the biggest procrastinators to still participate!

Rob is back from DragonCon and briefly talks about some of the online gaming related content he saw there. Grandpa and Xtofer kept tabs on the news this week when not too busy going on ice cream dates, including news about a potential Diablo 3 legendary exploit (but has it been hotfixed already?) Also, layoffs have hit the studio behind Elder Scrolls Online. Wait a minute, before the release of the console version? Eek! We talk Warcraft as well, including some of grandpa’s famous potpourii, and late breaking news that you might get a chance to play for FREE– for a few weeks anyway.

We are excited to have our friend Sil from Girls Gone WoW and other MMO-related projects back to the show. She’s the closest thing we have this week to Germany and the big Gamescom expo, where some multiplayer gaming news is coming from, such as yet another 5v1 game but this time from BIOWARE! There’s one online game expo you’ll be able to watch online soon for FREE! Sorry, it’s not Blizzcon but Blizzard is about to make a big announcement. We lock in our predictions for the release date of Warlords of Draenor on the show. Only ONE will be able to say “I called it!”

A website that we’ve watched a lot of MMO’s be livestreamed on has gone thru some major changes rather quickly in the past few days, and there’s a variety of spirited opinions that come up LIVE on our show tonight. Do we think there might be a silver lining in these changes? What do our listeners have to say? Tune in to find out. Also, Blizzard announces a 10 year anniversary plan for WoW that has some pretty awesome retro content, but could this be something to tide us over a little longer for an expansion? We’ll find out in just a few days when the release date is finally revealed.

Tonight we talk about the Destiny beta with our pal Ian from the Qoopa Klub podcast. This console shooter game from the makers of Halo has some very familiar MMO elements. Could this be what is drawing us to this genre of game that we might not normally play otherwise? In breaking news, the logo for the Warcraft movie is revealed at Comic-Con. Surprise! It’s nothing like the games at all, but isn’t that to be expected? Also in Blizzard news, Grandpa talks about the latest expansion for Hearthstone.

It’s just Grandpa and Rob on the program tonight, as Xtofer is traveling across the pond, which gives Grandpa ample time to ramble about lessons learned from having too many strangers over at his house. Oh yes, there is online game talk as well! Grandpa has some reservations about the status of the WoW Beta, though seems to be enjoying Heroes of the Storm pretty thoroughly. Rob has been going retro with FFXI, and we visit some news from games like Guild Wars 2, Hearthstone and DC Universe Online.

We welcome back Grandpa this week with talk of gambling and… a plan to throw our own con? (It’s not that serious). Allen is back as well to talk about his adventures in Final Fantasy XIV, which include unknowingly joining a group that was selling clears of end game content. How do we feel about this practice which isn’t necessairly limited to just one MMO? Updates on WoW, Diablo 3, Guild Wars 2 and ESO round out another week of news on the show about ALL things online gaming but NEVER too SRSLY- HORDE HOUSE!
