Horde House
Howdy ya'll and welcome to The Best Little Horde House in Azeroth. Internet radio & podcasting veterans Rob Roberts and Xtofer, and their wine loving friend Grandpa bring you a weekly dose of Azeroth news and updates from an honest yet sometimes sassy perspective. Join us for our antics each week as we invite special guests to pull up a chair with us and poke a little fun at one of our past times.
The Warlords of Draenor Alpha was expanded to new players just before the broadcast of this weeks episode, and believe it or not, somehow Rob and even Xtofer got in. We give some very early impressions, then proceed to talk about the online game that’s dominated most of our week: Mario Kart Mast…. I mean Mario Kart 8… featuring Angry Luigi!
In the news we also discuss another MMO going Free-To-Play, and a birthday event for Marvel Heroes!
Some tech bugs attacked our live presentation of this episode, but it doesn’t stop us from celebrating 150 episodes of our show. Who ever knew we would make it this long? A big thanks to all of our listeners for the support over the past few years.
We have news to discuss as well tonight amongst the AMPLE off topic discussion, including garrison information for the next WoW expansion, a new hero in Heroes of the Storm, and announcements of announcements for Final Fantasy XIV! Come for all that news, but then stay to hear the story of who split their pants at Disneyland. Just another week at Horde House!
We are joined once again by our bestest friendgirl Sil from Girls Gone WoW. Our Twitter is on fire with questions for our favorite Dutchie who has played a little of this and a little of that in the MMO space.
In our News segment, now very official with a bumper, we talk about the end of online capabilities for the Wii, as well as a way to buy a new face in an MMO… WHAT?!?!
Grandpa and Shane both played the Blizzcon ticket game this week. Who came out victorious? And who REALLY comes out victorious with a ticket to Blizzcon? Find out about this as well as what our hosts thought of the Heroes of the Storm Alpha, now that all have seen it.
In other online game news, we talk a bit about the changes to Xbox One, and what they might mean– or might not mean for MMO playing on the Xbox One.
Technical difficulties attack our show tonight, but that won’t stop Grandpa, Rob and Xtofer (for most of the show anyway) for talking about the latest in online games! It sounds like Nintendo has overcome many of their online techincal difficulties as Mario Kart 8 is going to be online, featuring things we don’t usually see in a Nintendo game!
Grandpa rounds up the Blizzard news this week which includes changes to raiding and the latest in the Warlords Alpha build. We discuss LIVE with our listeners.
Our collection is complete, as Jamal from Troll in the Dungeon joins us to talk tonight about his time in World of Warcraft. He also shares some of his experiences of being a very bad boy with other Blizzard games.
Blizzard fanboys and girls everywhere are anticipating Blizzcon, and the details are announced this week. But why the price increase? And the ticket vendor change? And the short time before they go on sale? We theorize some reasons LIVE with our guest and our chatrooms.
Final Fantasy XIV and Destiny news round out another news roundtable for this week, and our tweets & e-mails get us thinking about revisiting games we’d previously given up on.
We are joined by Fayt from the Troll in the Dungeon podcast this week. Fayt has played quite a few MMO’s out there, which gives an opportunity to talk about the hits and misses of MMO’s around the gaming universe.
In the news tonight, Diablo 3 had a mini-patch, but what was noticeable in those changes? If you played a monk, you might not notice a thing– but it’s justified in the patch notes anyway. Also changing with a new patch is Final Fantasy XIV, which got a mini patch this week to squish bugs in the latest content.
A blast from the past joins us tonight to talk about some of the continued Final Fantasy XIV and Diablo 3 chatter from last week. It’s a busy week in MMO’s as well with Elder Scrolls Online launching this week, but our guest made a pretty interesting opinion of the game real quick.
We get into the news this week which includes Hearthstone finally making it’s way to the iPad… in some parts of the world, anyway. Will Grandpa embrace the maple leaf flag to get his chance to play Hearthstone on the iPad? Also, we tackle some of the April Fools jokes from around the MMO universe, including some baaaad ones.
Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls has launched, and it’s dominating the talk this week on the show. Yup, we are back after a week off from the show, even though we are short a co-host. Rob & Xtofer hold down the fort to talk about the things they like about this expansion to the game, and how much of their attention it’s been getting.
We take some time to talk about the major maintenence in FFXIV today, then take your e-mails on topics from typography to corrupt senators!
Horde House superfan and trading card game lover Degenerate Johnny joins us on the show this week to talk about the official launch of Hearthstone after months of beta testing. Have the last minute changes made to certain cards been a good thing… or a not so good thing?
Also, a possible date is finally unveiled for the Warlords of Draenor expansion, but what is the reasoning behind the “on or before” language in the announcement? We dive into the details. One date we know for sure is the launch date of Wildstar, as well as some of the further details of this MMO as the NDA is lifted.
