Horde House
Howdy ya'll and welcome to The Best Little Horde House in Azeroth. Internet radio & podcasting veterans Rob Roberts and Xtofer, and their wine loving friend Grandpa bring you a weekly dose of Azeroth news and updates from an honest yet sometimes sassy perspective. Join us for our antics each week as we invite special guests to pull up a chair with us and poke a little fun at one of our past times.
We return after a week off for the holidays full of turkey and… full of e-mails! We have a lot of topics for discussion thanks to our listeners, including one e-mail that wasn’t even meant for us! Doesn’t stop us from reading it anyway… and might make our hosts speechless for a change.
Xtofer reads some late breaking news regarding the Warcraft movie. Some of our chatters have to explain who these people are but… they sure are easy on the eyes. How does this lead to a discussion on full frontal nudity? Yup, because it’s another episode of Horde House!
Our new friend Kvalri, who we met at Blizzcon, joins us tonight, filling in for a couple of absent co-hosts. Things go to a very nerdy galaxy when Kvalri and Grandpa get into their love of Star Trek, which includes discussion on the latest episode of Star Trek Online.
Plenty is afoot with Blizzard, including testing beginning for a new Diablo 3 expansion, as well as a small patch coming for World of Warcraft with a much requested feature.
Blizzcon is on everyone’s mind this week. Grandpa and Rob were in Anaheim and bring back some stories from the convention and more importantly the parties! Shane and Xtofer watched from home and definitley have their opinions too. We try to look at both sides of the coin, the good and bad about one of our favorite online game producers.
It’s not a 100% Blizzard show this week though, as there’s news to jump into as well involving Everquest Next Landmark and their upcoming Beta which you can pay to get into.
Blizzard is on the eve of it’s big event in Anaheim, and we discuss some of the latest news leading up to the show including sales figures and trademarks. What do we all expect to see at the show? What do we think is important for Blizzard to show? We talk about it all with our live listeners tonight.
All the news isn’t just Blizzcon though, as Final Fantasy 14 has sales numbers of their own to report. Also, one MMO that Xtofer used to play is set to go free to play just before it closes it’s doors forever.
The fabulous Sil from Girls Gone WoW joins us on the show tonight to get a little bit explicit with us… but hey, she’s Dutch so that’s what happens! In all seriousness, we talk a bit about the current state of World of Warcraft and what we hope to see come out of Blizzcon next week. An e-mail also asks for our predictions, which we make LIVE on air.
One of our favorite prices to pay for an online game is FREE, and on tonights show we talk about a couple of free to play games. First off is a report on the updated graphics for DC Universe Online in support of the Playstation 4. Some of us were fans of this game when it first came out, why did we stop playing? Will pretty superheroes in tights drive us back?
Also, a game that Rob talked about several months ago, Path of Exile, is officially released to the world via Steam. We talk about some of the updated changes to the game, and it’s unique talent system.
Woo hoo this episode is a multiple of 25! You know what that means! BIG SHOW– and to mark this special occasion– all the hosts are actually here tonight! Yay! After some general chit chat about Pokemon, Earthquakes and Yellow cards, we get to the news roundtable which includes some discussion on the inclusion of Cataclysm into the World of Warcraft Battle Chest. Is this going to be enough to woo new players to the game? Or does this seem a little more geared towards those that left long ago?
We get into discussion about The Crew, an online game that got delayed into next year. Are delays in the gaming industry a big deal? We have a discussion on game delays and the impacts they have.
Shane, Rob and Ghemit hold down the fort tonight, and Shane manages to hijack the show with plenty of Pokemon chatter. Well, there will be many handheld console players getting into Pokemon X & Y, that’s for sure.
In the News Roundtable, we talk about the countdown to Blizzcon, including the privledge to pay to buy more stuff! Star Wars: The Old Republic gets a new expansion which has some of us wondering why we ever stopped playing the game in the first place. Rob gives his opinions on Hearthstone, which may surprise you.
Tonight, we talk about some of the latest Warcraft Wank, including the movie release date (which probably won’t end up being the REAL date) and BlizzCon updates. Special guests Aramis and Ghemit join us, Aramis to talk about the variety of MMOs he’s tried while in the military, and Ghemit to tell us about his diva fit right on out of the World of Warcraft.
Final Fantasy XIV server transfers are incoming. Are you willing to sit out of the game for a couple days for the chance to play with us on Midgardsormr? We sure hope so!
Wade from the show Troll in the Dungeon joins us LIVE to talk about what’s going on in the World of Warcraft, including opinions on the latest patch. A news article from the roundtable brings more insight to the Connected Realms aspect of patch 5.4– but looking farther ahead, what do we hope for the next expansion? Better Graphics? Well… maybe not!
Some other MMOs are discussed in our news roundtable tonight as well including a new expansion for Eve Online, a discussion on free to play vs. premium gaming, and a patch due later this year for FFXIV.
