Spec Ops: The Line is an impactful military shooter that wasn't a commercial success, but now you can't buy it anymore as it has been delisted on all the digital storefronts. (Since it has a physical release, you can still buy a copy used, though!)
Then we take some time to talk about Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth and Persona 3 Reload, since OLR was not happening due to a power outage.

We were unexpectedly out last week due to storms, and BOY did we come back to a ton of rumors about what's going on at Microsoft. Could there be truth to the rumor that Microsoft is about to exit the hardware business? Or is this just about Starfield and a couple other games going to PS5? As usual, clickbait driven YouTubers blow everything out of proportion. We take a minute to review what we know and what we speculate could be forthcoming. As Phil Spencer has mentioned more information this week, we could have a lot more to dissect on our next show. All this and more round out another episode of the longest running podcast about video games, Orange Lounge Radio!

Microsoft announced that they were laying off 1900 people from the Xbox gaming divisions, including many at the recently acquired Activision Blizzard.

In what has become a disturbing trend in 2024's gaming industry, a large amount of layoffs happened at Microsoft this week, largely impacting Activision/Blizzard as the result of their merger. While some redundancy is expected, the cancelation of a project that Blizzard had been working on for six years compounded the situation. How do we remain enthusiastic about the games industry when this news never seems to end? Why does it keep happening? We discuss all this and much more on another episode the longest running weekly podcast about video games, Orange Lounge Radio!

I was fortunate enough to be a host in-person for multiple games throughout the week, and I talk about my experience both behind the scenes as well as just attending the week long mini-convention in snowy Pittsburgh.
Then we talk to Rob about all of the gaming news I missed, specifically the emergence of a game that wasn't known before I left for AGDQ - Palworld.
