Reviews
Games, Movies, TV Shows, Comics, Toys, Tech Gadgets, you name it, we want to review it!
I should have had this review written two weeks ago. That's when I could have written about it. That's when I SHOULD have written about it. But, I didn't. Why? Because I couldn't honestly believe how good this game was. I thought that it had to go downhill, something was going to change, as I went further into the game. I felt like I HAD to put the time in to finish it, because invariably I would come to the conclusion that it started strong and finished weak, and I didn't want to mislead anybody. To my surprise, The Talos Principle didn't let me down, even in the end, and it's the best game I've played all year.
Cartagra's setting takes place in Japan during the 1950's, post World War II. Japan is still recovering, but there are still many towns and cities that are poor, while the rich seemingly do nothing but get wealthier. Poor people get poorer and struggle to deal with making it in this environment. Takashiro Shugo is one such individual. He is a former soldier who used to be a police detective following the war, now he is doing a bunch of odd jobs for money. His former Chief asks him to perform an investigation at the request of an important man. This takes him to the city of Ueno. His task is to search for a missing person. Soon after beginning the investigation, a series of grisly murders take place. Of course Shugo agrees to investigating this as well, thinking the other case might have ties to his missing person.
I doubt there’s anything new to Final Fantasy X HD Remaster that would make detractors of the original sit up and take notice. For fans, however, the allure of revisiting an old game with better graphics and, for Vita owners, a handheld experience, might be a deciding factor.
I attend a monthly meetup group where we play party games. Catchphrase, Time's Up, and yes, even some Cards Against Humanity. It's a lot of fun to get together with other people and play together - in the same room, making jokes, having fun. Party games come in all different forms - board games, card games, and imagination games, and The Jackbox Party Pack finally brings that into the equation as a video game.
The mission of Ghost Stalkers was to take the paranormal investigative reality show genre to the next level, and to a degree, the show met that goal. Framing the show as more about the personal journeys of the investigators, as opposed to judging the merits of claims about a given location, made it a more involving tale.
I suspect those who read and enjoyed Mockingjay will come out of this film with a much higher opinion of it than those who are coming in fresh or expecting it to somehow change what they didn’t enjoy about the book. And that would be unfortunate, as this film does about as good a job as anyone could expect at moving the story forward to the cusp of resolution.
Rogue is likely to be the swan song of the franchise in terms of the PS3/360 generation, and after roughly 20 hours of play, it is performing exactly as one would hope in terms of wrapping up a number of story elements, pointing the way for the PS4/XB1-gen games to launch into the next phase.
When this game was released in Japan back in 2013 and it looked like a localization was not going to happen, fans grew a bit disheartened. Seeing as Tales of Innocence R had already been passed for localization, almost all hope had been lost. But thankfully, it got greenlit and has finally made it's way over Westward. But not without some sacrifices made to the localization. Thankfully the game is still a great experience worth checking out.
A team of explorers travel through a wormhole in an attempt to find a potentially habitable planet that will sustain humanity.
...This was a fan translation of a 2011 otome visual novel that came out for Windows and OS X by manga artist Hato Moa's doujin circle, PidgeoNation Inc. Originally, it was a Flash Game created on April Fools' Day in 2011, and, it grew from there, since spawning other versions and publications. When I first played it, I didn't get far. Now that it has an official HD release and English translation, I decided to give it another go...
