Great show last night

Since X-Men: Days of Future Past involves time travel, And some of the casts from the previous films are returning. Perhaps they can get Ellen Page to reprise her role as Kitty Pryde. In the original Story, Kitty Pryde was a big part of it.

Can they use time travel to fix that terrible Bret Ratner directed third movie out of existence?

As note on the Netflix thing, there are Pixar films on Netflix as far as I know (I mean, Netflix Mexico has them, so why not the US one?).

But it would really bad if one studio bought Netflix, it should really stay away from the hands of them and just work as a "Distributor".

Agreed, that's the problem I have with HBO (Warner Bros) and Showtime (Paramount). It really hurts the variety of movies that show up on a service.

I spent a lot of time this past weekend looking for Disney titles on Netflix. I know the full deal doesn't go into effect until 2016, but I did read they were going to add some of their classic titles, which I was excited about for my 2 year-old son. Unfortunately it was just a lot of the direct-to-video sequels (blah) and a couple of not-so-mainstream choices such as Fox and the Hound and The Great Mouse Detective (which I love by the way) but I was hoping for more.

So i checked in on the Kevin Smith and Clerks 3 thing. In addition to this podcast i listen in on Kevin Smiths podcasts. In his most recent podcast of Hollywood Babblelon, he outlines the Clerks 3 stuff. Here are some quick notes from the episode.

- Since "Hit Somebody" is going the miniseries route, the door is open for a final movie for his career

- He wants to do Clerks3 and has already written treatments and notes on it. Says he can hammer out a script and 3 days.

- The main reason why Clerks3 is not being made right now is because he and his fellow people of his crew are in a fight with the Weinstiens.

- The Weinstiens production company have not paid Smith or any of his people for money earned from Clerks2 or Zack and Miri. They auidited them recently and that will take them awhile.

- Once that fight is done he will move forward with Clerks 3. Because his fellow cast member do not want to move forward until that is done (mostly the guy who plays Randal)

- He expects it to be moving forward sometime in 2014. It will be funded indie style through crowd funding and his own money.

Smiths plan is to put it up on Kickstarter (or whatever crowd source site) and have fans chip in for the movie. He also plans to match whatever the final amount is with his own money.

He's doing it this way because he wants to make it privately funded like how he used to do in his early years (a la Clerks 1)... He also wants to make it so the money donated goes directly to him and his crew and not executives/producers (like the Weinstein's)...

Well, heres hoping it has more in common with Clerks 1 than Clerks 2 then. Still don't like the kickstarter aspect. At least when he made the first movie he repaid his credit cards, parents, etc. Don't think people giving to kickstart this movie will be able to say the same.

Phone Extortion... Yeah, it happens a lot in Mexico. Luckily people here don't fall for it that easily, but it's very important to keep calm and check the facts before doing something stupid.

Good thing nothing serious happened to your dad nor you Travis.

Okay, I was going to stop spamming with so many comments, but I loved your Into Darkness discussion so much, I felt I had to chime in one more time.

I'm actually excited about the movie. I know reboots are cheesy and yes the alternate timeline thing was a cheap way to reboot the greatest sci-fi franchise ever, but I will still take any Trek I can get.

Which leads me to J.J. Abrams. I actually think he is a pretty good idea man and a savvy creator, but I agree that he is a terrible film director. His "talents" are much more suited to TV where his cheap lens flare tricks can hide the flaws of being on the lower budget small screen that just look glaringly amateur in a big budget Hollywood movie.

All that being said, I did enjoy the first film, especially considering the franchise was dead, and yes I am looking forward to more J.J. Trek despite the fact that I think he is a mediocre at best film director.
